Swine Flu hits Pune
A new strain of influenza virus, officially named the "new H1N1", first identified in April 2009, and commonly called "Swine flu" hit Pune in August 2009. The first death was a 14-year-old Pune schoolgirl. The city went into a bit of a panic with everyone wearing masks, of course they all carried on riding motorbikes without helmets and smoking :-)
